If you’re anything like us then it will be taking all of your restraint not to squeal every time someone mentions the Olympics! We are literally giddy with excitement.
To show our support for the Olympics coming to London we have been sporting (get it?) athletic inspired outfits: wedge trainers, luxe tracksuits, neoprene dresses, super-sleek jerseys, racer backs, literally everything but spandex!
And we’re not the only ones – sport is the new black for 2012 with the likes of Stella McCartney and the impeccably dressed Victoria Beckham making it a bona fide trend with their ss12 offerings.
Stella McCartney even went as far as to design the GB Olympic teams uniforms, whilst Victoria Beckham took the sport trend quite literally with hooded jackets, tech fabrics and racer backs featuring heavily in her immaculate collection.
Dressing super-sporty can be a bit daunting, but as VB shows – it doesn’t automatically mean masculine. We find the classic palette of black and white to be the easiest to work with when exercising this particular look. It gives a clean aesthetic and stops the detailing from becoming too oppressive. For those who feel uncomfortable at the thought of body con – a varsity jacket (a la Lana Del Ray) will inject just enough sport into even the most lazy of looks.
To keep the theme authentic, avoid wearing dangly earrings or anything too girly – we think our sparkle studs perform perfectly! So. . .we’ll see you at the Olympic Park then?
