We love Girls and we love New York – so you can understand the appeal of the latest TV series ‘Girls’ to come hurtling at us from the US. Four twenty-something girls (Hannah, Jessa (bad British accent), Marni and Shoshanna), living in Brooklyn NY, in varying states of employment and self discovery with not a pair of inexplicably shoes between them (we’re looking at you Carrie ‘broke’ Bradshaw).
The plot is a simple thing unofficially centred around an obliviously selfish and yet totally adorable Hannah played by Lena Dunham, (who is absolutely 100% our new girl crush, tats and all) trying to make it as a writer in the big bad metropolis, what ensures is a tumultuous self-exploration for all four girls. Although ludicrous at times, it’s frank, funny and a whole lot more realistic than the highly glossed SATC ever was.
And we can’t get enough of the kooky love interest Adam, do people like him exist?! We can barely wait for the next series to start… Read more about it here
