What is it about the sixties that makes it feel so familiar despite us never having experienced it first hand? Whatever the reason, we can’t get enough! We have been on a nostalgic trip back to the sixties style since we were old enough to read, but ever since Mad Men first slinked onto the small screen we literally cannot overcome our obsession! For those of you not in the know, Mad Men is an American TV series set in the 1960′s which has taken the world by storm.

Even some of the most influential players in the fashion industry have been bowled over by the sixties charm of the series and made the next two seasons almost entirely about nostalgic, feminine glamour. The ss12 catwalks displayed more than a whisper of Mad Men influence with some items looking as if they could have actually been worn by the show’s infamous characters.

From Prada’s pretty pleats and pointed shoes to Giambattista Valli’s sixties shift silhouette and extravagant embellishments – there were tell tale signs everywhere! But what better season to get in touch with your 60s vixen than the long and warm months ahead?

We’re already enjoying the premature rays through our cat-eye sunglasses but for us, pearls add that certain sixties je ne sais quoi. . .
